Remnants and Relics

Anonymous Society presents Remnants and Relics, a group exhibition featuring work by Alexander Churchill, Amanda Sandlin, Christl Stringer, Christoper E. Manning, Iris Yu, Isabel Sorrells, Joseph Annino, Lorra Kurtz, Mary Gagler, Michele Randall, Michele Riche, Monica Hamilton, Ryan Scails, and Terri Yacovelli. On view from November 6 through November 28, 2025, the exhibition explores memory, accumulation, and the narratives embedded in objects and images.

A remnant is more than a fragment of the past. It carries the weight of memory and the texture of lived experience. A relic, whether humble or revered, invites reflection on what endures and why. Together, they form a language of preservation, where each object or image becomes a vessel for meaning.

The artists in Remnants and Relics approach this idea through diverse practices across painting, sculpture, photography, and mixed media. Fragments, traces, and collected forms emerge as records of both personal and collective histories. Each work considers how what we keep and what remains connects to larger narratives of identity, culture, and time.

This exhibition asks viewers to consider the power of fragments: what is saved, what is remembered, and how the residue of the past continues to shape the present. Anonymous Society hopes you will join us in the gallery on November 6th from 6 to 8pm for our opening reception where you will be able to meet some of the artists and take in the art.
